On October 24th, the Academic Forum and Annual Meeting on "Innovation and Practice of Landscape Engineering Technology" of the Landscape Architecture and Ecological Environment Branch of Sichuan Survey and Design Association was successfully held at the Art Gallery of the School of Architecture, Xipu Campus of Southwest Jiaotong University. Guided by Sichuan Survey and Design Association, this event was co-hosted by the Landscape Architecture and Ecological Environment Branch and the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University.
At the opening ceremony, Shen Zhongwei, Dean of the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the school. He extended a warm welcome to the participating leaders, experts and peers, and pointed out that the landscape architecture industry is in an era full of transformation and innovation, and the integrated development of landscape architecture and ecological environment is a long-term and arduous task. Dean Shen emphasized that the university will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with various enterprises and institutions in multiple fields and platforms such as practical innovation, technological research and talent cultivation, so as to jointly contribute more wisdom and strength to the construction of ecological civilization in Sichuan and even the whole country.
Subsequently, Gao Jing, Chairperson of the Landscape Architecture and Ecological Environment Branch of Sichuan Survey and Design Association, and Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Sichuan Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., delivered a speech. She made an in-depth analysis of the current opportunities, challenges and future development directions of the landscape architecture industry, and highly affirmed the irreplaceable role of university-enterprise cooperation in promoting the development of the industry and social economy. Witnessed by the participating guests, Chairperson Gao Jing and Hu Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University, jointly unveiled the new book on park city construction achievements - Towards a Park City: Planning and Practice of Tianfu Greenway.
During the academic exchange session of the forum, wonderful reports were given focusing on topics such as Tiexiang Cultural Tourism Ring, integration of culture, business and tourism in urban renewal, ecological restoration of the Jiulong River bank, protection of ancient watchtower group landscape heritage, cutting-edge exploration of landscape engineering technology innovation, comprehensive land improvement in Luojiang, inheritance and integration innovation of Shu culture, and two-way empowerment of landscape engineering teaching and community renewal.
In the roundtable discussion, in-depth and lively exchanges were conducted around hot topics such as Tianfu Greenway landscape engineering technology practice, key engineering technology breakthroughs in park city construction, challenges and responses of digitalization and artificial intelligence, engineering technology support for rural revitalization, art installation technology and implementation in SKP engineering practice, and low-maintenance technology of garden plants, sparking many ideological inspirations.
Finally, Yang Qingjuan, Vice Dean of the School of Architecture of Southwest Jiaotong University, made a summary of the conference and delivered a closing speech. She stated that this forum has effectively strengthened the cooperation and exchange between universities and enterprises, and the participants have conducted full and heated discussions on the technological innovation and practical application of the industry. It is expected that taking this as an opportunity, the in-depth integration of university talent cultivation and industry construction practice can be further promoted in the future, so as to jointly contribute to the construction of human settlements in the country and regions.
